Letter: Thanks from First Citizen

By Ed Barnes, Vancouver
Published: May 23, 2019, 6:00am

What a great honor it was to be awarded 2019 First Citizen of Clark County as a member of organized labor and IBEW Local 48. Thank you to the sponsors: Pacific Premier Bank, PeaceHealth Medical Center, the Community Foundation for Southwest Washington, The Columbian and all that attended, including past First Citizens, business leaders, union brothers and sisters, veterans, citizens, elected officials and family friends.

Special thanks to my wife, Luanne, and family members, Washington State University, Anne McEnerny-Ogle, Sally and Bob Schaeffer, Al Bauer, Jody and Scott Campbell, and the head of the Community Foundation for Southwest Washington board, Jennifer Rhoads, for the service to all.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
